Obstacles

Most of life is about perspective. A hill can be viewed as a nuisance, a pain, a challenge or as an opportunity for fun. This time of year I have fond memories of tree skiing. I enjoy the cold weather, the speed and the trees as obstacles that I must go around or suffer the consequences of hitting one. A lot of life is like tree skiing. Some elements seem controllable but most aren’t. That’s why it’s important to go to God in prayer and for daily direction. The Bible says in:

Prov, 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”

This New Year let’s seek God’s direction and follow Him and by doing so we’ll avoid hitting the “trees”.

  1. Tree skiing??? When did you do this? Must have been in your youthful days, eh? Seriously brother, I'd rather leaf the trees to the squirrels! Sometimes running into an obstacle in life (tree/trial) produces perservence, character, and hope...pretty sure there is verse in there. Romans 5:3-4
